I'm going to

I received a copy from the author in exchange for a honest review.

Firstly, this collection of poetry was slightly reminiscent of Rupi Kaur's Milk and Honey, which I loved!

Secondly, this book revolves around one particular theme. It is broken, for the broken-hearted, those who have trusted and have been betrayed and those who have loved and have been broken by it. These poems explore h

"Words may not break your bones but they can slip beneath your skin and rip your soul to shreds."

Aunque la poesía contemporánea no es mi genero favorito, últimamente me visto más y más atraída hacia ella.
Y me ha ido muy bien leyendo libros como Milk and honey y The Princess Saves Herself in this One.
En cuanto vi este libro, pensé que sería del mismo corte, inclusive las portadas son muy parecidas. Pero la verdad este libro no me termino de conectar.

Esta antología de poemas no conlleva una

Pyrokardia sent me an Ebook version of his book in return for a honest review, and I am so thankful for that.

Broken Wishbones and Empty Spaces is actually the first poetry book I've ever read in my life. I promised myself to read more of this genre in 2017. So that's what I'll do!

I've only experienced a minor heartbreak in my life, but yet most of these poems hit me in the right spot. I could feel the author's emotions as if they were my own, or does that sounds weird? I hope not!

This book is an attestation that though love may cause us inexplicable hurt, it also brings life to us - redemption.

This poetry collection was sent to me in exchange of an honest review. As a lover of poetry I devoured this book like no other. Broken Wishbones and Empty Spaces is an attestation that though love may cause us inexplicable hurt, it also brings life to us - redemption. Pyrokardia's words resonate grief from being broken yet was also a reassurance that you'll come out of it if not

It is just so heartrending how love cannot heal within a lifetime what it beaks within seconds. This prolific collection of poems; “Broken Wishbones & Empty Spaces” explains what it means to be broken, how it feels to be broken, and how it feels to thirst for love while being broken. It is a book that understands and justifies the melancholy in love. Yet amidst this hurt, what daunts me the most is that it still acknowledges love as a good thing, if only we could find it, give it, and take i ...more

I received an ebook copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

“Broken Wishbones and Empty Spaces” is a collection of poems about love and heartbreak. I used to read a lot of poetry a few years ago, but I stopped and this book has inspired me to get back into reading poetry. I finished reading all the poems in one sitting, once I started reading I couldn’t stop!

I love the small illustrations below each poem and that you can give each poem a personal title, it’s such a unique and cool i

I was contacted by Pyrokardia on instagram to do a review of Broken Wishbones and Empty Spaces. Overall, I liked this book of poems. A lot of the poems talk about love. Being in love, falling from love, loving love. While I did really enjoy them at first, after a little while they started become repetitive to me. It often had poems that were, in my opinion, very similar to previous ones. This kind of made the book drone on for me in some sections. I felt like I was reading the same p

I connected with the heartache.

I felt like I had lived some of these moments, I book marked quite a few. I am glad I came across this Poet.

"One day, I’ll find that person that’s going to make
me feel more than okay. Someone whose mere
entry into my life would be a cause for celebration.
Someone to share my sadness with. Someone I can
call at anytime of the day and wouldn’t be too
busy. Someone who would make me feel wanted,
needed and adored. Someone I don’t need to hide
my pains from. Someone I can be real with, that
will break me and stay to mend my pieces back
whole. Someone who will stay, someone I’ll end
with."

With the almost nonexistent technique and simplistic drawings, this collection is very reminiscent of milk and honey. In this case, the collection is even more lacking.

This style of poetry is becoming more and more popular, and I get why, I do, but it’s definitely just not for me.

No. No. No.

This poetry was awful. I'm sorry. I just didn't like it at all. I know it's her personal feelings and thoughts, and they are all valid and understandable, but saying it is art, saying it is poetry, is bull. This is a disgrace to actual poetry. Unfortunately, we can't all be poets. I wish the writer the best of luck in either getting better or trying their hand at a different type of writing.

On the bright side, I thought it was pretty interesting that the writer didn't title her poem

Relatable themes of love

I could identify with how tired the author is of dating and loving without that love being returned, that's a universal feeling that people can relate to everywhere. Unfortunately for me, the poetry just wasn't very polished - I wanted less cliques about love and more about the writer's experiences specifically, the little details that make witing unique.
The blank lines on titles was a nice idea but looked slightly odd on the page!

I noticed that this book was currently in the running for the Goodreads Choice Awards of 2017. While this book was a fast read at a fair price, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed at the lack of uniqueness it offered. This book was definitely worth reading, but I'm not sure if it will be a strong contender amongst others like the popular Rupi Kaur.

This offered nothing new to me. Nothing I haven't read before, the theme (broken and heart ache) is nothing new as well. But if you are feeling a little broken and needs a fix up and haven't read a lot of tumblr-ish poetry, then go for this, it's still worth a shot.

Not my favourite. Didn't really connect with the poems and felt they were a little bit too dramatic

As much as I think this could be great for someone dealing with heartbreak, I could not relate. It was very repetitive and depressing. I didn't finish it.

I heard so many good things about this book, so many people promoting it on social media so when I saw it on amazon kindle in sale I immediately bought it and started to read.. and I was immediately disappointed.

This book seems like it was written by a 12 year old having her first broken heart and is feeling like the whole world is against her.. This is probably a very unpopular opinion but I really can’t wrap my head around the fact that this book gets so many high ratings..

“We fell
into the book of love
stumbling through the pages
filling up the paragraphs
creating new chapters
right till the very last page
where we fell
out of the book
breaking into pieces
as we fell apart.”

“The problem isn't that you broke my heart
my problem is that you didn't break my heart at a single instant so that I could heal from that moment on.
You broke my heart at several instances
every time I think of you
every time I hear our song on the radio
every time I hear your name randomly called by a stranger
every time I see a stranger carrying your shoulders
or flipping your hair
every time I see a memory of you through the corners of my eyes
you break me at several points in time
setting me back every time I thought I've healed from you
your memories break me everyday
can you please come back?
break me all at once
and never leave again?”
