This is a story of a man who accidentally becomes Grim the Reaper, the most highly revered killer in Limbo. A place beyond time and space as we know it where psychopaths compete for perverse honour and status as they carry out their deathly duties.

As Grim struggles to hold onto the memories of the life he’s lost, he discovers that the insane being who shaped him (and the

I won the book in a giveaway.

First, there was Nothing. A Nothing void of reason or substance, want or will, with no name, no place, and no time. Only an incomprehensible emptiness, stretched across eternity and indifferent to all, even Itself.

Then, from that Nothing, came two Somethings. One, a force of light, the other, a force of darkness, separated by a sprawling distance but connected by the same desire: to be complete. They searched the space between them for an end to their dissatisfac

Grotesque and gaudy this book sure as hell delivered.
A story about soul-mates (the word more literal than you would expect), gore and witty banter, following John Grim, a writer who accidentally kills the love of his life and becomes –you guessed it- a reaper, the best there is in Limbo a place where sense goes to die and psychos gloat about their perfect kill. With that Grim finds himself struggling to keep a hold of what is left of his humanity along with a lust for a life long gone

Limbo by Marko Pandza is a unique and original take on Limbo and the Grim Reaper which had me working hard to visualize the setting, yet laughing at the grisly Reaper rewards, and what happens when someone escapes, when no one reigns in Limbo and it is allowed to ravage humans and Earth, totally out of control, leaving me queasy and asking the question What If.

If Limbo were a movie, it would easily be rated 18. So gruesome in parts. Definitely not a book for everyone.

I had a really hard time with this book. I felt like I was reading a B rated movie, it was really unrealistic and almost comical. I would have much rather it been more realistically scary than comically scary.

I usually read a book a week or more and it took me months to pound through this book. I was not at all interested in any thing that was happening.

This book was provided free in exchange for an honest review. This is no way impacts my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

When I first started Limbo I was like, “What did I get myself into?” But the more I read, the more I didn’t want to put the book down! Limbo is definitely gruesome and disturbing in places, but that is offset by the funny and poetic moments sprinkled throughout the novel. The plot is very original and flows well. The imagination used to create the world of Limb

What would you do to live forever?

What would you agree to, to live forever? Especially if your only other choice was nothing? Would you agree to be a death reaper? What if you were told that you would be able to reap the life of the person you love more than yourself for eternity? That you knew you could could watch over their live and reap them in the most gentle, loving way possible. On top of that you get your own room in Limbo and a bottle of bone marrow to help you keep human feelings and e

Big thanks to Goodreads First Reads for me winning this copy. It took me a while to finally get to reading this because it was a Kindle copy and, even though I own one, I still prefer paper. I'm kicking myself for taking so long. This was a good book. And more than a little disturbing with it's imagery. The author really paints a picture for all of the reapings and descriptions of Mr. Rotten. Another reviewer commented that this was almost poetic and I have to agree. Like a novelized poem, if th ...more

Excellent book! This was the first book I'd won in a goodreads giveaway and I read it right away. I won't give you any spoilers here, I'll just say that one develops a real fondness for the main character and you really want him to find what he is seeking. Those who reside in Limbo are fully rounded characters, not one dimensional at all. The setting and those in it are written with such a sense of humor and wonderul imagery, that really helps this place materialize in your mind.

I'm not even sure what to say about this. Hieronymus Bosch meets Chuck Palahniuk. Words, people, time, ideas, thought all rearranged and superimposed in puzzles put together in entirely the wrong way.

If you enjoy the above mentioned artist and/or writer, you will love this book.

It isn't my usual genre, but I was strangely intrigued after the first chapter. Four stars (for me) means that I must finish the book. You know, one of those trains that you absolutely have to watch wreck. Even if it tak

Wow. Set aside the extreme gore for a moment and you have a really amazing view of life, death, life after death, creationism and evolution. I really enjoyed this book and found myself only wishing that there was more backstory on each of the characters. I like to think of Vlad as Vlad the Impaler... Helen... I don't know who she is.

I found it hard to read too much in one sitting because there was so much to absorb, to think about and to just get over the WTF? moments.

The gore was over the top a

This was certainly not a book I would normally read. I have to admit, but for those that want something scary and gruesome to read.. this is all for you!

I won this book through goodreads, and I liked it, but oh boy.. nightmares for me!

This was such a bizarre story, really gave my imagination a work-out. I really like the story-telling and characters. Some scenes had my stomach turning, but all in this fantasy world called Limbo. I'm a big fan of this author, and I can't wait for his next novel!

This book ruined me for all others, I found a soul mate!

The book falls under the fantasy and horror category and one may expect the classic spook element through the plot, but this book is not just about chills of supernatural, it's about making you a part of their evil cult. The writing style is fresh, especially when the protagonist is Grim the Reaper himself.
The book had me by the throat, the creep quotient was on the notch, and the much expected sass of Grim made the plot easier to swallow.

I cannot amply describe how impressed I was with this book. The best way to put it in perspective is, upon reading a closing thought, I would often find myself pausing from venturing on just so I could think to myself "Sh*t, this book is so good."
I especially fell in love with the writing and how artfully ideas were painted; so many little passages presented themselves as mini revelations. This one was one of my favorites: "It began to exist, the way pristine glass reveals itself by shedding pur

Free copy for honest review.

This is a very well written horror/fantasy book about a man named John Grim. He is living his life with his girl friend Dora when the unimaginable happens, a gruesome death, after which he finds himself the most highly revered Reaper in Limbo. As John struggles to hang on to the last bit of his humanity he is forced to confront the ugly truth that he was lied to and must try to right the wrongs that have been done. Ultimately this is a book about destiny. I found the

As you may all have noticed I don't usually read horror novels especially not at this time of year but this book really sounded interesting so I decided to give it a shot.

I am so happy that I did because it is a very good book that kept me reading from the very beginning.
It is different compared to any other books I have read and it is so very well written.

I am going to get my husband to read this one too because I know he will love this book as much as I do.

If you are looking for a new horror

I am horrible at this updating thing...SORRY! I actually received this book back in Feb. after winning giveaway. Personally, I have a hard time connecting to books that have a male lead. I know it's unfair to some great books/authors. I would still recommend this to someone, as a thanks to the author.
